Transferring a domain from one registrar company to another ordinarily involves the use of a special transfer code, which different companies call an EPP authorization code, a domain password or an Auth code. This code can be used as a protection measure against unsanctioned transfers with all generic and with most country-code extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the particular domain name and is provided by the present registrar company. It must be given to the new domain registrar company because the transfer process cannot be started without it. The code is case-sensitive and traditionally contains digits and special characters, so as to impede unauthorized people from breaking it. Some domain registrars even alter the codes of domains registered through them after a given interval of time for even greater safety.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting, you’ve registered a domain through our company and you would like to transfer it, you can get its EPP authorization code with less than a few clicks of the mouse. When you log into your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you’ve registered with us listed in alphabetical order. To the right of each domain name, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all generic and country-code domain extensions that require a code in order to be transferred between registrar companies. Clicking on the icon will send the code to the registrant’s email momentarily. In the exact same section you can also see and ultimately modify the email, if the one there isn’t valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain name that you wish to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code exceptionally easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your account and your domains. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will find an EPP icon to the right of your domain names, provided that their extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the domain name owner can see this information. If the currently listed email is not valid anymore, you can edit it with a few mouse clicks without needing to leave this Control Panel section. The change is instant, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the given domain name right away.
